THE BONGOS "DRUMS ALONG THE HUDSON"LIVE @ JOE'S PUB

@ THE PUBLIC THEATER
425 LAFAYETTE STREET
NEW YORK, NY 10003

SATURDAY OCTOBER 14, 2006 / TWO SHOWS ONLY @ 7:30 & 9:30 PM / $25.00

Seminal new wave/alt-rock/powerpop legends The Bongos, fronted by Joe's Pub favorite Richard Barone, alongside Rob Norris on bass and Frank Giannini on drums, storm the Pub with their only live performance in over a decade. The show celebrates the upcoming Special Edition release of the original trio's Hoboken Pop classic Drums Along the Hudson, which they will perform for the first time as an unedited, continuous concert piece.

"Remarkably consistent and inventive they are a brash, direct, energetic band, with songs of particularly haunting effect."--The New York Times

"The Bongos' unique quicksilver sound exerts an irresistible pull: their music has the strange and wonderful quality of leading you to the brink of some exotic revelation."--Rolling Stone

"I was just listening to Drums Along the Hudson. What a remarkable album."--Moby

"I just finished listening to Drums Along The Hudson all the way through, and it remains fuc*ing great. Concise, dark/light, funny/serious...everything I aspire to... Thanks for the great album and for the inspiration it has provided in my own musical life."
--Dave Dederer, The Presidents of the United States
